Input dialogue

You can easily follow Tabs in dialogue which show work flow with application.

MEMBER - Calculation type - Check

Description contain User defined description which is shown at the top of calculation.

Calculation Type - Check or Design can be selected

Member Type - Beam or Column can be selected

MEMBER - Calculation type - Design

Use designed reinforcement in checks is used in ....

MEMBER - Check - Column

Buckling data for columns can be defined here.

CROSS SECTION - Cross section

Cross-section including reinforcement is defined here.

Work around for definition of opening

CROSS SECTION - Reinforcement

You can select from predefined templates in the case of predefined shape. Each predefined shape has at least one predefined template. You can set cover of reinforcement as distance from edge to center of longitudinal reinforcement, diameter of reinforcement and number of bars for appropriate edge in template.

Input of reinforcement for general cross-section is possible via table input. Each bar is defined by coordinates and diameter. Position in the table (and bar) is highlighted in the picture by orange circle.

CROSS SECTION - Stirrups reinforcement

You can select from predefined shape of stirrups for predefined cross-sections as in the case of reinforcement. You can set diameter of stirrup, longitudinal spacing between stirrups and angle of stirrups from longitudinal axis.

For general cross section, you can define your own shape of stirrup via table input. Definition of stirrup is based on its outline polygon and Stirrup #. All defined stirrups will have the same diameter, spacing and angle.

Stirrup # means identification of stirrup.

MATERIAL

Materials for concrete, longitudinal and shear reinforcement can be defined here.

You can expand libraries

and for material concrete, select diagram type

or for reinforcement

or you can check material properties used in calculation.

LOAD

There can be defined internal forces acted in the section:

In case of column calculation, another moments in direction y and z can be defined for begin and end of column.

SETTINGS - General settings

National annex can be defined here.

A wide range of national annexes to the main standard EN 1992-1-1:2004/AC:2010-11 has been implemented

The selection can easily be made from a combo box on the General setting tab. The values are automatically set or calculated according to the methods of the selected national annex.

Coefficients for calculation of inner level arm and effective height can be defined here too.

SETTINGS - Output

in the case if User defined origin is selected

SETTINGS - Elastic deformations - SLS Characteristic

SETTINGS - Elastic deformations - SLS - Quasi permanent

SETTINGS - Calculation - ULS - Interaction

Method of check for N-My-Mz interaction diagram - used in Capacity N-My-Mz - Interaction check

SETTINGS - Calculation - ULS - Shear

SETTINGS - Calculation - SLS - Creep

If automatic calculation is ON, user have to define Relative humidity, cement class and ages of concrete

If automatic calculation is OFF, user can input his/her own value of creep coefficient

SETTINGS - Calculation - SLS - Stress limitation & cracks

Parameters for Stress limitation and crack check can be defined here.

If calculation of wmax acc. to selected National annex is OFF, user can input his/her own value of wmax

SETTINGS - Calculation - SLS - Deflection

Limits for deflection can be defined here.

SETTINGS - Calculation - Internal forces recalculation

Settings for recalculation of internal forces can be found here.

SETTINGS - Calculation - Design of reinforcement - Shear

This setting is used only if Type of calculation - Design

Parameters of stirrups for design can be defined here, including stirrups material, diameter of stirrups, number of cuts and angle of stirrups

SETTINGS - Calculation - Design of reinforcement - Longitudinal

This setting is used only if Type of calculation - Design

Parameters of longitudinal reinforcement for design can be defined here.

If automatic determination of type of method is OFF. User can select his/her own method of design. Available methods are:

SETTINGS - Cover

All parameters for automatic calculation of minimal concrete cover can be defined here.

Available parameters depend on selected National annex (Like design life in years). Only Standard reinforcement is available.

Exposure classes for calculation of concrete cover can be selected from combo boxes, Available classes depend on selected National annex.

CONTENT

Project content can be defined for Calculation type - Check in the bottom part of dialog.

Displaying of check also depend on defined load. For example, if Torsional moment Mx is not defined, Torsional check is not done and visible, even it is set ON in the content.

Member type - Beam

Member type - Column

Ultimate limit state checks

Each check has its own bookmark. You can easily click on name of check. Layout than scroll on the begin of particular check. The next displayed information is value of unity check.

Serviceability limit state checks

Each check has its own bookmark. You can easily click on name of check. Layout than scroll on the begin of particular check. The next displayed information is value of unity check.

Other checks

Next checks/calculations are available for column:

Errors, warnings, notes

Each error, warning and note has its own number, description and proposed solution (in the case of error or warning).

Table with errors and warnings
